Many residents in the Monterey County Regional Fire District (MCRFD) live within the “State Responsibility Area” or SRA. These residents receive a bill from the State Board of Equalization (BOE) for fire prevention services. This fee is the result of legislation that was signed into law. Residents will be charged $152.33 for each habitable structure on their property. MCRFD residents will receive a $35 reduction in the fee given that they are currently protected by an organized fire department, reducing the fee to $117.33.
Monterey County Regional Fire District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
